When clients become friends celebrating is great fun. It was just over 3 years ago when I had the opportunity to represent my very buyer as a broker in Oregon. Diane Phillips was my first victim ah, I mean buyer.
Diane had never been to Central Oregon, she pulled out a map pointed to a spot and said, that’s where I am going. Her finger led her to La Pine, Oregon. I remember the day we met like it was yesterday. I picked up Diane and her grown son at a local motel and off we went to see the homes available that met her needs and budget.
She found her home fairly quickly and the necessary paperwork was drafted and she soon became an Oregonian. When Diane arrived in La Pine to take possession of her home she knew no-one. She had no help to unload her trailer and so she called me to help her find assistance. A girlfriend and I stopped by after work and lend her a hand. That was the beginning of our three year friendship.
Tonight we celebrated her birthday for the third time together. As always it was a lot of fun, we always start with a pedicure and then off to dinner. This year we went to Shojis, we celebrated her first Oregon birthday here too, so we knew we would have a good time.
Our chef was Darrett and he is a blast. He has a great sense of humor and puts up with us old women very well. We always drag one of my daughters along to liven up the night, it is amazing what a young person can do to make us old foggies laugh. The menu at Shojis is simple and yet wonderful at the same time. If you are a sushi fan that is available too, I am not a sushi kind of gal so I can not tell you if it is good. But our tablemates seemed to enjoy what they ordered off the sushi menu. The drinks, well they are out of this world and I would strongly suggest a designated driver. I love being a REALTOR® in Central Oregon; the friendships I have built over the years from my job are more rewarding than any other profession I have ever experienced. If I had not been a REALTOR® Diane and I may have never met.
Diane is the kind of friend you can always count on. She lets me know if my flyer boxes are empty – she lets my dog out when she knows I am working late and one of the greatest things is she truly cares about me. This week I took a nasty fall and was on the phone with her. She was at my house in moments just to be sure I was ok.
Celebrating with a friend and a client is a reward that not every profession provides, I truly believe that my success is due to the relationships of my business. So, if you are looking for a great place to celebrate a friendship or special occasion I must recommend Shoji’s you will not be disappointed. Shoji’s is located on 3rd street in Bend, just across from ShopKo.
